<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">The German Internet Panel (GIP) is an infrastructure project. The GIP serves to collect data on individual attitudes and preferences that are relevant for political and economic decision-making processes. In the present case, this is a recruitment survey.&#13;

The questionnaire contains numerous experimental variations in the survey instruments. Further information can be found in the study documentation.&#13;

Topics: Desirable qualities of children (tolerance and respect, feeling of responsibility, independence, determination and perseverance, hard work, imagination, thrift, unselfishness, obedience, religious faith); important qualities of politicians (responsible, humorous, faithful/loyal, empathetic, attractive, authentic, intelligent, hardworking, altruistic and honest); most important qualities of a spouse (items as before); government should be more vs. spend less money on pensions and annuities, on supporting the unemployed and immigrants; requirements for legal abortion (serious damage to the baby, no more children wanted, health risk to the wife, low family income, rape, unmarried, no reason).&#13;

(Scale) Experiment Slider: personal importance of social activities and environmental protection; assessment of the importance of social activities and environmental protection for others; preferred extent of the Federal Government´s commitment to environmental protection.&#13;

Feedback questions (respondents should receive feedback on how their answers relate to the answers of others): Time spent on a working day for television in general, for political news on television, listening to the radio, reading newspapers, reading articles about politics and current political events, and using the Internet for private purposes.&#13;

Demography (imported variables): sex; year of birth (categorised); highest school leaving certificate; highest occupational qualification; marital status; number of household members (household size); employment status; federal state; GIP sample (2014).&#13;

Additionally coded was: Unique ID; household identifier and person identifier within the household; questionnaire evaluation (interesting, varied, relevant, long, difficult, too personal); overall assessment of the survey; allocation to experimental groups; questions on the slider experiment answered; no further comments.</abstract>
